Summer at Fairdene Lodge is always a season to savour. With longer days, brighter skies, and the gardens in full bloom, it’s the perfect time for our residents, friends, and families to come together and enjoy all that the season has to offer. This August, our calendar is packed with activities designed to inspire, entertain, and bring joy to everyone in our community.
Gentle Movement and Mindful Moments
We started the month with **Tai-Chi Tuesdays** – a calm and mindful way to stretch, strengthen, and boost wellbeing. Whether joining in or simply watching, the gentle flow of movement creates a peaceful, uplifting atmosphere.
Furry Friends and Warm Hearts
We then welcomed WildSci for **Pet Therapy**. Few things brighten a day like the unconditional affection of animals, and our residents love the comfort, laughter, and conversation these visits bring.
A Moment for Reflection
Our **Church Service** with City Mission is a cherished time for reflection, prayer, and community spirit, offering a peaceful pause in the month’s activities.
Keeping Active and Energised
Mid-month brings **Sports Therapy** with Rise Life – an engaging way for residents to stay active, improve mobility, and have fun at the same time.
Music to Lift the Spirit
Nothing lifts the spirits like a good singalong, and on 14 August and again on 28 August, Andrew Murray will be leading **Sing Along Songs** sessions. Expect familiar favourites, joyful harmonies, and a lot of smiles.
Pampering and Personal Care
On 19 August, we’ll be hosting our **Ladies Hair Salon** afternoon. It’s always a lovely chance for residents to feel pampered, refreshed, and ready to face the day with a renewed sense of confidence – all while enjoying friendly conversation over a cup of tea.
Creative Afternoons
The month ends with **Arts & Crafts** on 26 August, guided by Mairi. This is a chance to explore creativity, try something new, and create a handmade keepsake.
